ESTI’s Eye Is A Smart iPhone Case That Also Runs Android

ESTI’s Eye Phone Case Will Add Android To Your iPhone

Are you an iPhone owner who wishes to run Android operating system on their device? However, due to the security protocols laid down by Apple, it is not possible to do so. Then, this product could be the answer for you.

ESTI Inc., a company based in Tel Aviv, Israel has designed a case for iPhones called the โ€˜Eyeโ€™ that has built-in Android phone. In other words, ESTI has essentially attached an Android smartphone at the back of the iPhone with its case. The smartphone case will be compatible with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus.

The Eye case will come in both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch variants and is supposed to improve your iPhone experience in many ways. The Eye features a 5-inch Full HD display with Always-on functionality and is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU. It will come with 2,800 mAh battery that charges the iPhone complete with wireless charging support, up to 256GB of extra iPhone storage via microSD, two additional SIM slots, an infrared blaster, NFC support, and even a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack. Eye runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, and will also have access to the Google Play.

Android exclusive features, like native call recording, the file explorer, customization, file transfers, and Android apps are all made available to iPhone users via the Eye case. The Eye will enable selfies with the higher-quality rear-facing camera of the iPhone by mirroring the iPhone’s display to the back of the device. This allows for Portrait Mode selfies, according to the Kickstarter page. The creators also claim the case-phone-thing will get OS updates for two years, which is kind of difficult even for the established phone makers to provide.

ESTI had rolled out a Kickstarter campaign for its iPhone case with a modest goal of $95,000. Until now, the product has received over 200% of its funding goal on Kickstarter.

The first Eye cases will ship in August 2017, which is a month before the iPhone 8 arrives. The case is eventually expected to retail between $189 and $229 for the 4G LTE version. However, the early backers of the campaign can get it at just $95 (without 4G).
