OnePlus Buds Vs Apple Airpods 2: Features, Specifications And Pricing

Alongside the launch of OnePlus Nord, the Chinese tech giant also unveiled its new TWS earbuds namely OnePlus Buds.

The budget-oriented true wireless earbuds from OnePlus are priced aggressively and they are feature-packed. Surprisingly, in some aspects, they even outperform Airpods 2.

In this article, I have compared OnePlus Buds and the Apple Airpods 2.

OnePlus Buds Vs Apple Airpods 2: Design Aesthetics And Features

Both the OnePlus Buds and Apple Airpods 2 sport a rigid plastic construction and both can withstand rough usage. However, Apple Airpods 2 are not waterproof or water-resistant.

On the other hand, the newly launched OnePlus Buds 2 offers IPX4 water and sweat resistance.

For connectivity, both these true wireless earbuds rely on Bluetooth 5.0. That said, AirPods 2 come with an inhouse H1 chip that makes the pairing process with other Apple products similar. Sadly, that’s not the case with OnePlus Buds. OnePlus Buds also support Google Fast Pair technology.

Airpods 2 feature dual beamforming microphones for hands-free calls and Siri. Surprisingly, both units of OnePlus buds feature three microphones. Some other major highlights of Airpods 2 are dual optical sensors, motion-detecting accelerometer, and speech-detecting accelerometer.

Another major area where OnePlus Buds are far better than Airpods 2 is battery life. A pair of fully-charged OnePlus Buds coupled with the charging case offers up to 30 hours of high-quality music playback. Additionally, due to Warp Charge technology, these earbuds of 10-hours of playback with 10-minutes of charging.

Clearly, OnePlus Buds and Apple Airpods 2 are meant for different users and they have many unique features. That said, the earbuds from OnePlus are an excellent pair of TWS earbuds for the price.
