WhatsApp Will Stop Working On These Phones From 31st December

As per usual, Whatsapp will remove support for older smartphones and this year around 50 smartphones will no longer be able to use Whatsapp in 2023.

A majority of smartphones that will lose WhatsApp support are quite old at the time of writing this article and some of them are even a decade old (iPhone 5).

One of the primary reasons why these smartphones won’t be supported is that they haven’t been updated in a very long time. Whatsapp will now only be supported on devices running at least Android 5.0 Lollipop or iOS 12 or later.

Here’s the complete list of all the mainstream iOS and Android smartphones that won’t be able to use WhatsApp starting 31st December,

Clearly, the percentage of users running these old smartphones is extremely low. Consequently, removing WhatsApp support seems to be another push to force these users to upgrade to a newer smartphone.
