A good news for programmers using ChatGPT. OpenAI and Stack Overflow have formed a partnership to find quick solutions to your coding problems.
Now, ChatGPT users can ask increasingly complex questions and get a more accurate answer, backed by code and insights from Stack Overflow’s massive content library.
A Two Way Partnership
OpenAI will use Stack Overflow’s Overflow API to improve its data and provide an accurate answer to coding questions.
On the other hand, Stack Overflow will use OpenAI’s API to polish its Overflow AI and empower the developer community, as stated in the statement by OpenAI.
When will it be Released?
The first group of integrations from Stack Overflow is set to launch in the first half of the year, but specific details on which will come first have not been released. Earlier in February, Stack Overflow also partnered with Google.
This partnership will let users of Gemini for Google Cloud (not the same as the Gemini chatbot) access coding advice directly from Stack Overflow.
Mixed User Reactions
While the regular ChatGPT for coding users rejoiced, there is a group of internet users who have raised their concerns, along with a few theories.
Few have alleged that OpenAI has already scanned Stack Overflow over the years. They think that this move is more of a way to prevent lawsuits in the future over the content.
Some of the users talked about not getting credit for their contribution to Stack Overflow. OpenAI monetizing their contributions to provide answers is not something that everyone is on board with.

Devin can take a backseat while you march ahead with ChatGPT’s increased capabilities. We will have to wait till next year to see how this partnership shapes up both AI models.
Unless you are living under a stone, you can start using Stack Overflow’s AI model to see if things are taking shape.
