Syrian Electronic Army hacks RSA Conference website after presentation at RSA conference irks them

Official website ofย RSA Conference is the latest to the list of victims of Syrian Electronic Army.ย
RSA Conference website (https://www.rsaconference.com/)ย was hacked earlier this saturday after the RSA Conference posted the video of Security professional Ira Winklerโ€™s presentation over “the methods used by Syrian Electronic Army and the prevention from them”. on their website.

Unfortunatelyย Ira Winklerโ€™s presentation annoyed the Syrian Electronic Army, most likely becauseย Winkler talked about the old leaks which claimed to expose two of the Syrian Electronic members, the Comment “these people are like the cockroaches of the internet”ย made over the ย people who are claimed to be helping Syrian Electronic Army. and at last saying the Attacks to be low tech.

Winkler today in a blog post went on explaining how the Syrian Electronic Army managed to deface RSA Conference website

the RSA Conference site itself was not hacked. Additionally, Lucky Orange, which was essentially the attack vector was also not hacked. It was a phishing attack against the staff of the Lucky Orange DNS services company, which fell victim to the attack.

Winkler said the Syrian Electronic Army then managed to update the DNS information of the website and redirect it to the deface page.

last tweet from the Syrian Electronic Army suggest that they may carry on with some more attack in the coming days

3 Reports, So it will be 3 attacks.. brace yourself. #SEA
