Canvas Play with Android 5.0 Lollipop to be released by Micromax, listing available on the company’s site
Micromax is all set to launch another Canvas-series handset – the Canvas Play (Q355). This comes soon on the heels of introducing the Canvas Spark (Q380) affordable Android 5.0 Lollipop-based smartphone. Micromax Canvas Play is now listed on the company’s website. However, there are no details on the availability and pricing of Micromax Canvas Play.
Micromax Canvas Play, which is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) based device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. There is nothing different about the phone as Canvas Play is the third smartphone from Micromax that runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. The other two models were Micromax Canvas Fire 4 and Micromax Canvas Spark.
The Canvas Play smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582M) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It also features a 5.5-inch (480×854 pixels) FWVGA display.
It comes with inbuilt storage capacity of 8GB, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 5-megapixel fixed-focus rear camera with an LED flash along with a secondary 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. On the connectivity front, the Canvas Play offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.
According to the official listing, the smartphone has a 2820mAh battery, which is touted to deliver up to 10 hours of talk time and up to 273 hours of standby time.
Few of the preloaded apps on the smartphone include Askme, Chaatz, Clean Master, Hotstar, M! Games, M! live, News Hunt, PayTM, Quikr, and Snapdeal, among others.
Micromax had launched the Canvas Spark (Q380) earlier this month at Rs. 4,999 to be marketed via Snapdeal.
Similarly, like the Canvas Play, the Micromax Canvas Spark is a dual-SIM smartphone, and runs on an Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box. It has a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and features a 4.7-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) IPS display. It is further powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M processor coupled with 1GB of DDR3 RAM.
