Micromax’s Yu Yureka and OnePlus one is all set to receive Android 5.0 Lollipop-based CyanogenMOD 12S update

While the CM12S update for OnePlus one has already been accepted and certified by Google, Micromax’s Co-Founder and CEO said that the CM12S update for the Yu Yureka has been submitted to Google for certification and if it goes well the same should be accepted and rolled out in coming few days.

OnePlus Founder Carl Pei confirmed replying to a Twitter query that OnePlus One has already been accepted by the Google on Friday and this why the device is just days away to get the update.

OnePlus has Recently developed its own forked version of Android called the Oxygen OS.

“By creating our own operating system, we can quickly respond to user feedback and make it easier for you to continue playing a fundamental role in the future of OnePlus,” said OnePlus. “Our goal for OxygenOS is to provide faster, more meaningful updates and a better-integrated range of services for every OnePlus user.”

Micromax won an exclusivity agreement to provide CyanogenMOD OS and updates on their smartphones in India last year and the road for OnePlus users India to CyanogenMOD looked to be closed. However OnePlus One CEO has confirmed an OTA update for CM12S would be made for Indian users as well.

Well, it looks like finally the wait is over.

Update: Cyanogen 12 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop rolled out for all OnePlus One devices, Yu Yureka to follow
