OPPO confirms the design and specifications of R7 And R7 Plus
Over the last couple of months, ton of images of the OPPO R7 handset along with a couple of video clips have been leaking all over the place. Sometime back, a differently designed OPPO-branded device had come up that resembled the OPPO R7, and the rumors had it saying that the phone will be called the OPPO R7 Plus. Well, OPPO has just confirmed that their upcoming R7 smartphone will debut with a larger brother, the R7 Plus.
The OPPO R7 Plus features the same premium metal (magnesium alloy) build quality as found on the R7 and includes the same 2.5D curved glass with near edge-to-edge display. The OPPO R7 will feature three capacitive buttons below the display: menu, home and back, respectively.
On the other hand, the OPPO R7 Plus won’t offer capacitive buttons. Unlike the earlier OPPO smartphones, the OPPO R7 Plus will now have on-screen keys. This handset will have an ‘OPPO’ logo below the display, and on-screen buttons will substitute the capacitive ones. The OPPO 7 will be the first device that would be incorporating capacitive buttons and not the on-screen ones in their devices. Further, the OPPO R7 Plus comes fitted with a rear fingerprint reader, which probably will unlock the phone in the same manner as the OPPO N3.
The OPPO R7 and OPPO R7 Plus both will feature the company’s VOOC Flash Charge technology, which is capable of charging the 3,000mAh battery from 0 to 75% in just half an hour.
OPPO R7 was quite recently certified by TENAA. It’s listing disclosed that the phone will feature a 5-inch 1080p display. It will have 3GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. The handset will be available in two variants, one will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor and the other one will have Snapdragon 615 64-bit octa-core SoC. The OPPO R7 will feature a 8mp and 13mp cameras, and will be shipped with Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It will also have pre-installed OPPO’S Color OS in addition to Google’s operating system. The OPPO R7 will measure 6.3mm in thickness and weigh 139 grams. Both of these variants will offer 4G LTE support.
So, this was a a sneak preview of the officially confirmed Oppo R7 and Oppo R7 Plus devices for Android fans. These handsets will be officially revealed on May 20 in Beijing, China.
