Xolo launches Xolo Prime smartphone with 4.5-inch display and 5 MP camera for Rs. 5,699

Xolo has launched a new budget smartphone at a price of Rs 5,699 in India. The Xolo Prime features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a 480 x 854 pixel resolution along with a pixel density of 218ppi. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 1GB RAM. The device comes with an in-built storage capacity of 8GB which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card. The Xolo Prime is backed by a 1,800 mAh battery, which gives up to 20.8 hours of talk time on 2G networks and 10 hours on 3G, claims Xolo.

On the connectivity front, the device supports 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-fi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot functionality, GPS/A-GPS and micro USB 2.0. The smartphone comes fitted with a 0.3MP VGA front-facing camera along with a 5MP autofocus rear camera. The device will be available in a glass body and will come in four color variants namely black, blue, red and gold.



Priced at Rs. 5,699, the Xolo Prime will face stiff competition from Micromax’s recently released Canvas Spark. This device is priced at Rs 4,999 and is exclusively available on Snapdeal. The smartphone features with a 4.7-inch qHD IPS display with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor and coupled with 1GB RAM. It is backed by a 2000mAh battery, which can deliver up to 335 hours of standby time as claimed by the company. On the camera front, the Canvas Spark has a 2MP front camera and has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash.

Xolo Prime, the Android Lollipop based smartphone will be soon available at all leading retail outlets across the country.
