OnePlus 5 to have Snapdragon 835 SoC along with 23MP dual camera, 8GB RAM and QUAD HD 2K display
During the previous week, the world was so focussed on Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 smartphone so a little leak went unnoticed. The leak concerns OnePlus’ upcoming flagship OnePlus 5. OnePlus will soon be unveiling its next generation OnePlus 5 which is said to be inspired OnePlus 3T which is one of the best smartphones one can buy right now. The Chinese company has this special zeal of producing high-quality smartphones that always take the tech world by a storm since its first OnePlus One. Its last smartphone, OnePlus 3T is a highly-advanced smartphone which is also considered one of the best Android phones in the market today along with Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel, and Samsung Galaxy S8.
Why OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4?
Why is OnePlus releasing OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4? This has to do with this long-held Chinese superstitious belief that the number ‘4’ is unlucky. Hence, OnePlus 3T is the device which was supposed to be OnePlus 4 and now, we have the upcoming flagship killer, OnePlus 5.
What will OnePlus 5 look like?
The OnePlus 5 will most probably be an all-glass or ceramic chassis design in a full matte color called ‘black as midnight’. OnePlus 5 is said to continue the Colette edition of the OnePlus 3T which could give it a premium look. OnePlus 5 features a 5.5 inch dual-curved edge AMOLED FHD/2K display. To add to these beast specs, the new flagship device is said to be packed with a high capacity RAM of up to 6/8GB paired with a 64/128GB expandable internal storage along with a stunning camera of 25 MP rear and 16/12MP front. The OnePlus 5 might most probably come with a dual-rear camera setup for efficient 3D and depth capturing.
Most importantly, the OnePlus 5 Android smartphone will feature the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with a large 4000mAh battery along with USB Type-C connector and Qualcomm Quick Charge feature enabled, all packed in with the latest Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. The phone will get the Android O update even if it doesn’t come pre-installed with it.
Renders reveal that the OnePlus 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest processor, which also juices the recently announced Samsung flagships – Galaxy S8 and S8+ – the Snapdragon 835 SoC, reports Gizmochina. Well, not only the OnePlus 5, the next Xiaomi flagship – Xiaomi Mi 6 is also expected to come with the latest processor.
When to expect and what price to expect?
The device is rumored to hit the online market at the mid of the second quarter which is around April – June. The 64GB version would probably cost US$439 while the 128GB model around US$479. There is a chance of a 256GB OnePlus 5 version as well.
