At its 10th anniversary event, Xiaomi introduced Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent edition.
Do note that, the 55-inch edge-to-edge transparent television is not a prototype or a concept, rather it’s an actual device that will go on sale in China starting 16th August. As a matter of fact, Mi TV LUX is the world’s first mass-produced transparent TV.
In addition to being transparent and having a futuristic design, the OLED TV is equipped with flagship-grade hardware that ensures unmatched visuals and astonishing audio output.

Mi TV LUX OLED Transparent Edition: Specifications
The entire construction of Mi TV LUX consists of a 5.7mm ultra-thin body rectangular screen and a round base. Clearly, the television looks futuristic, and rather than a consumer electronic it seems to be an art piece.
Mi TV LUX OLED TV is based on LG’s Transparent OLED Digital Signage technology. Once switched-off the TV looks like a transparent sheet of glass.
The 4K OLED transparent TV from Xiaomi sports a screen size of 55-inch and it has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels. Some noteworthy features of this visually impressive display are 150000:1 static contrast ratio, 98.5% DCI-P3 Color Gamut, 1000 nits peak brightness, HDR 10+, Dolby Vision, and 1ms response time.
Furthermore, the 10-bit panel displays 1.07 billion color combinations. Human eyes can’t perceive the extra-wide color spectrum offered by this TV. The 120Hz refresh rate coupled with the super-fast response time makes this OLED panel ideal for gaming as well.
A Quad-Core Cortex A73 MediaTek MT9650 processor accompanied by Mali-G52 MC1 GPU power this OLED transparent TV. Additionally, the TV comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. As for wired and wireless connectivity, the Mi TV LUX offers WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, 3 x HDMI 2.1 (including HDMI eARC), 2 x USB, S/PDIF, and Ethernet.
Xiaomi has offered a custom-made MIUI for TV software for the proper functioning of this TV. The TV can playback most mainstream media formats like MPEG1/2/4, H.264, H.265, etc.
As for audio, it supports Dolby Atmos and DTS audio. Furthermore, Xiaomi has also equipped this device with AI Master for Audio. This technology intelligently detects the content playing on your TV and selects a fitting audio mode to enhance the viewing experience. The two 8W speaker units of this TV are housed in the round base.
Pricing And Availability
The Mi TV LUX OLED transparent TV retails for a price of 49999 yuan which roughly translates into US$ 7196 and Rs. 5,37,210. As of now, not much information is available about the availability of this TV in international markets. That said, it will officially go on sale in China at 10:00 AM on August 16.
