Razer Hazel RGB Face Mask Renamed As ‘Razer Zephyr’- Get It Early!

At the CES 2021 in January this year, Razer had unveiled the world’s smartest, most socially-friendly, and reusable N95 concept mask called “Project Hazel.”

In March, the Irvine-based global gaming giant announced its plans to manufacture and ship the concept RGB gamer-inspired N95 face mask.

On Friday, Razer announced that the company’s wearable air purifier mask has now been renamed as the ‘Razer Zephyr.’

It is a market-ready product and open for Community Beta Testing. Those interested can sign up via Razer’s website ahead of its planned fourth-quarter launch later this year.

According to Razer, Zephyr is designed to be safe, social, and sustainable. The mask comes with a 99% BFE (Bacterial Filtration Efficiency), a silicon face seal, and anti-fog coating. The mask’s BFE rating can easily be maintained by swapping in new filters into the ventilators, which have long-lasting battery life for all-day use.

In terms of features, the mask includes a detachable ventilator that regulates airflow, which is capable of filtering at least 95% of airborne particles. It also has a high fluid resistance that protects against large droplets and splashes.

It comes with a special charging case lined with a UV light interior to kill bacteria and viruses as the mask charges. The mask will come with a clear, transparent design to see a person’s mouth for easier communication and a built-in mic and amplifier combo to project the user’s voice.

Further, the smart mask’s interior lights up automatically when it’s dark, allowing the person to express clearly regardless of the lighting conditions. With a dual-purpose fast charger that sterilizes at the same time, the smart mask is always ready to go. Glows from red to green for easy reference when checking battery level.

The mask is waterproof, scratch-resistant, and is made of recyclable plastic to greatly minimize wastage as compared to disposable masks. Its active ventilation brings in cool air and releases heat produced from exhaling, which also prevents a build-up of CO2 in the mask that can cause headaches and dizziness.

It has an unobtrusive, air-tight seal to prevent air from leaking in, while the thicker ear loops apply less pressure on the ears and can be adjusted for a more secure fit. The mask can also be custom-made to fit your face shape.

At the moment, Razer has not provided any information on the price or release date for the Razer Zephyr. Keep watching this space for more details, as this is a developing story!
