On April 9, 2024, Microsoft released its second Patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 23H2 and 22H2 via KB5036893, and the monthly security update for April 2024 on Windows Server 20H2, and Windows 10 for the latest supported versions, 20H2, 21H2, and 22H2 via KB5036892.
However, the company has confirmed and posted on the Windows health dashboard that the Windows 11 KB5036893 and Windows 10 KB5036892 updates are causing VPN (Virtual Private Network) connection failures.
However, it did not mention the exact reason for the VPN problems on Windows.
The company wrote on its health status page that “Windows devices might face VPN connection failures after installing the April 2024 security update (KB5036893) or the April 2024 non-security preview update.”
On the Windows health dashboard, Microsoft has directed how affected Home PC users can use the Get help app in Windows to get support with their personal or family accounts.
Similarly, affected Enterprise devices can request help for their organization through Support for business.
