NVIDIA Has Reportedly Discontinued GeForce RTX 4090

Last month, there were reports that NVIDIA would cease producing its most powerful consumer graphics card, GeForce RTX 4090, in October 2024 to prepare for its next-gen RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 graphics cards in the coming months.

Members of the Board Channels forum, as reported by VideoCardz, indicate that NVIDIA has discontinued the RTX 4090 and the China-exclusive RTX 4090 D this month and will no longer produce or supply graphics chips to its partners.

The manufacturers will mainly focus on clearing the existing GPU inventories in the remaining time this month.

Although NVIDIA has made no official announcement regarding discontinuing the RTX 4090 series, some regions are already experiencing shortages and increased prices, reports the German outlet PC Games Hardware.

It writes, โ€œIt is becoming increasingly clear that the Geforce RTX 4090, currently by far the fastest gaming graphics card on the market, will soon reach its EOL (“End of Lifetime”). The situation is getting worse and worse.โ€

According to the same rumor from Board Channel, in addition to the RTX 4090/4090D GPUs, the RTX 4080 models, including the SUPER version released in January this year, are also likely to be discontinued in November.

The supply of the GPU will also be stopped next month. Following this, the manufacturers will focus on clearing the existing inventories.

While the RTX 4090 is undoubtedly the greatest, fastest gaming GPU available on the market right now, the rumors surrounding the imminent launch of the next-gen GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5090 D GPUs in 2025 and the significant price hike of the RTX 4090 certainly suggest that now is definitely not a good time to purchase it.

However, if you are still keen to purchase the GeForce RTX 4090, it is advisable to do so as soon as possible before the prices increase even further or the product becomes unavailable on the market.
