A Germany Based hacking group Chaos Computer club have finally Hacked iPhone 5S touch Finger print Censor.
Chaos Computer club is Europe’s largest Association of Hackers and was founded in 1981. From last few days hacker’s from around the world has been trying to break into iPhone 5S Touch id, One of the Security group also Announced a bounty of 16000$ for the person who is able to hack iphone 5S Touch Finger print censor.
On Monday 22nd September Chaos Computer Club finally break into Apple’s iphones 5S Touch id.
The group said they were able to use the lifted fingerprint from a glass surface to impersonate it as a Actual finger print and finally breaked into Apple iPhone 5S Touch finger print censor.
‘We hope that this finally puts to rest the illusions people have about fingerprint biometrics. It is plain stupid to use something that you can’t change and that you leave everywhere every day as a security token’, said CCC spokesman Frank Rieger.
‘The public should no longer be fooled by the biometrics industry with false security claims. Biometrics is fundamentally a technology designed for oppression and control, not for securing everyday device access.’
The iphone 5S went on sale in market Friday, and just a day after CCC, club were able to break down the touch finger print censor. CCC said similar process have been used to crack Various touch sensors in the market. Aplple touch security just had higher resolutions from other,
“In reality, Apple’s sensor has just a higher resolution compared to the sensors so far. So we only needed to ramp up the resolution of our fake”, said CCC member Starbug.
One of the video released on Youtube by the member Starbug, of the CCC group, shows how he manages to use the finger print imprint lifted from a glass surface to break into iPhone 5s touch finger print censor.
“As we have said now for more than years, fingerprints should not be used to secure anything. You leave them everywhere, and it is far too easy to make fake fingers out of lifted prints.” Starbug from CCC said.
