French telecommunication company Orange has acknowledged a data breach effecting more than 1.3 Million Customers.

The Incident was detected in mid-April when hackers accessed a software platform that Orange use to send promotional emails and text messages to subscribers. โ€œWe found an illegitimate access to an email and SMS-sending platformโ€ that is used in our marketing campaigns, the company said.

the hackers have acquired customers names, email addresses, mobile and fixed line numbers, names of mobile and Internet operators and the date of birth of customers. 
the company has warned all the effected customers, the stolen data can be used for phishing campaigns, Orange warned all effected customers in a statement issued this week.

No Financial information has been stolen, and the vulnerability in the system has been patched soon after the incident came into the knowledge. the company said.

This is the second time when hackers have targeted Orange this year. back in feburary 800,000 customer details was stolen from Orange’s website.
