Facebook’s Six New Reaction Buttons Instead Of ‘Like’ Go Live Today
The global rollout for Facebookโs long-awaited reaction buttons on the social network starts on Wednesday. So now, instead of just liking a friendโs post, you can now react with โlove,โ โhaha,โ โwow,โ โsad,โ or โangryโ emoji.
The new reaction buttons were in development for more than a year. From now on, instead of using the thumbs up for like, Facebook users will be able to react to friends’ posts with something other than a gesture of pure positivity. Long press on the Like button and you’ll now see “love,” “haha,” “wow,” “sad,” and “angry,” and posts will now show the mix of reactions they’ve received.
While Facebook has given the option of five different reactions, there’s no “dislike” button, as some users have long requested, Facebook says that the new mix of reactions has proven popular with users during testing in Spain and Ireland. It’s launching today on iOS, Android, and the web.
While the new reaction buttons have not reached India so far, they are being rolled out world over and may soon reach your timeline soon.
