Microsoft Launches ‘Learn TV’ Video Channel For Developers And Engineers

Microsoft on Tuesday launched a new daily online program called ‘Learn TV’ on Microsoft Learn for developers and engineers at its Build 2020 Developer Conference.

“With COVID-19 and the cancellation of in-person events and face-to-face engagements, most developers are now at home and looking to online learning and training resources. Microsoft wants to continue to bring developers relevant information they need, whether they are learning and advancing their skills or reskilling,” said Microsoft.

For those unaware, Microsoft Learn is the company’s free online training platform where it is easy to learn products and services through task-based, interactive learning with over 80 hours of free content, localized into 23 different languages, covering Azure, Dynamics, Power Apps, Flow, with more coming in the future.

“Today Microsoft Learn offers hundreds of free self-paced learning modules and Learn TV expands on this to bring together live streams, shows, and instructional videos from Microsoft Cloud Advocates, Product Group leaders, and communities, making the Learn platform a one-stop shop to learn and grow,” Jeff Sandquist, Corporate Vice President, Developer Relations wrote in a blog post.

Microsoft’s Learn TV is a new content experience that offers daily live, pre-recorded, and on-demand video programming for developers and engineers within the Microsoft Learn platform. It is the place where you can find the latest digital content so you can always keep updated on the latest announcements, features and products from Microsoft.

Learn TV will aggregate live and on-demand content across Microsoft properties including Channel 9, first-party events, hackathons, and interviews. It will also host casual developer conversations and instructor-led sessions from advocates and engineers.

The new video channel will complement Microsoft’s Channel 9 and will not replace or change any of the Channel 9 programming, confirmed a Microsoft spokesperson to ZDNet while putting to rest all rumors surrounding the end of Channel 9.

Currently, Learn TV is in preview. “Learn how to build solutions and use Microsoft products from the experts that built them,” reads the tagline on the Learn TV preview site. You can watch it right here.
